One good thing about being retired is this wasn't our vacation that we had planned on doing all year. The bad thing about being retired is that it indicates that we are at the age where we had better get the things that are important done. We will regroup and go back out.
It might be good actually that this happened. We have had winds over 30 mph yesterday and today, so we might of been in over our heads. I went to bed at 9:30 and slept to 8:30, so I was tired and really needed to regroup and the last 2 nights sleep has helped with that. It is suppose to warm up on Monday, so the plan is to borrow my friend's pickup (it is out front now) and go over to McPhee Reservoir by Cortez, CO on monday and come back on Wed. I worry about going out on our narrow local lake and getting blown into the far shore before we know what is going on. McPhee is about a mile in circumference where you put in at the ramp/dock and then goes 4-5 miles down to the dam at about a 1/4 mile width and the same for a couple miles back to the head waters of the lake. It is about 80 miles over there, about the same to Lake Powell, but without the big climbs in and out of canyons.
If you are interested here is a link to the google map and satellite views. The link will take you to Cortez. Then just scroll straight north and you will get to the lake about 8-10 miles north of town......

...It is a pretty lake and we have been by it, but not on it.
So our spirits are still high, I'm adding a radio/tape/CD player to the boat, something to hold the anchor and a couple other little things today and tomorrow and we will try again.
Hope everyone has a good weekend,
Sum and Ruth
