I like to keep the bow clear and don't want to have to re-attach the rode...

...every time, so we keep our anchor on the floor of the laz and the rode with it in a canvas bag. The anchor is a aluminum Fortress, which is light enough to manage easily and is a great all-around anchor (even though it's a bit pricey).

Some people like to trick their Macs out as much like big boats as possible. But having come from sailing bigger boats, I find I like to keep things as simple and dingy-like as possible--so no anchor roller, no anchor-locker, no hawspipe.
