OK all, here are pix of the cooler cutout, hideaway table, stove, new cushions, and cushion hinge in a separate picture.
I am most proud of the simplest item, the cord hinge on the cushions. By carefully picking the cord hinge attachment points and cord length you can have a compartment cover that is tight when closed but flips up and stays tight up without holding the cushion or cover. This isn't otherwise possible without a hinge pivot point sticking out a couple inches in space above and in front of the cushions. Note my cushions are 5200'd to velcro attaching to velcro on the plywood compartment covers. Cushions should stay tight when heeling, never fly loose, and do hold themselves up without binding the back cushion (which is also 5200'd to velcro and attached to the liner).
Before I am berated for velcro, I will admit that I agree that self-adhesive velcro has no place on a boat because the heat invariably melts even the 3m velcro mastic -learned that one the hard way. Hope I like the velcro attached w/ 5200 cuz it ain ever comin off.
