Where should I mount my transducer

Hi,
I was crawling around the boat trying to get an idea on where to mount the transducer for the fishfinder. I came up dry - does anybody have any suggestions - especially success stories?
I have one on my Fox and i really do not want a sailboat without one - i got spoiled.
