In Response To: My transducer is a thru hull, has anyone noticed (Mike "Mikabee" Mac26s Victoria, Tx)

My "under $100" fishfinder transducer is "shoot through the hull" mounted in the Laz, Ive had the boat in 300 feet of water and it seemed to work fine (both fish finder and GPS maps mostly agreed).

However, if I was using it to actually see fish, I dont think it would work that well. I get a lot of "noise" on the screen that Im guessing is because of shooting through the hull. But Ive never tried the same setup directly in the water.
