That is a rain cover for the "doorway"...

It snaps across the top of the hatch, rolls down to cover the doors, is weighted with a small chain in the bottom hem, so it stays in place. Made from Sunbrella.

The position you see it in is "stored" -- rolled up and snapped to itself.

The original idea was to provide some rain protection while going in/out of the cabin during rainy weather. MUCH quicker to flop that cover back, go in/out, and let it drop back into place; as opposed to doors, hatchboards, etc.

Attached pic shows it rolled down.

Well, once again, can't get pics to work.
