The other oddball gear on the pulpit is another experiment.

I wanted to raise the mast up from the factory position so that we could open the fwd hatch with the mast down. So, the mast support on top of the pulpit.

I also got tired of dealing with some way to support the R/F unit while trailering.

I am trying a bunch of little "experiments" to reduce setup / takedown time and generally make trailering more convenient.

That (whatever-you-call-it) extending forward from the pulpit is a support for the R/F. As I was playing with the idea, I realized that, if it were strong enough, it could also serve as a "sprit" for the spinnaker or a drifter (something I really want to get).

So, I laminated it in place, took it off and finished it up half-decently, then mounted it in the old traditional way (with rope).

This too will get its first real trials at the Florida 120.

Hopefully, I'll get the kinks worked out by BEER!
