In Response To: Nothing, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, beats epoxy for adhering a transducer to a hull. (link) (pic) (Ramblin' Rod - Mac 26D - SeaQuell - Georgian Bay.)

I used the Mineral oil method. Installed in the laz, right next to the forward bulkhead in the middle, under the floor. Works good! I got a fancy shmancy transducer that comes with a cylinder thing that allows adjustment of the angle, to get it to point straight down.

Here's a picture from West Marine. It's the one in the lower left corner of the pic. It's a 50/200kHz Dual Frequency Transducer. The picture doesn't show the cylinder part, but the transducer shown fits inside the cylinder that is adhered to the bilge. The directions recommended silicone. The transducer is twist locked into place, an o-ring makes a seal preventing the mineral oil from leaking out.

I was thinking about making one out of PVC, which can be done fairly easily, but when I saw this I decided to get it. Made the job a lot easier, didn't have to worry about getting a good seal or anything.
