Where did you get the plugs? I also need to order a spare set soon.
On the old Honda, besides limiting the throttle in Nuetral, it also limits the throttle in reverse. One time trying to catch a mooring in fairly windy conditions (which were placed too close to a boat dock) I needed the reverse to keep me from drifting into some boats at the dock. The throttle limited reverse did not provide enough power to keep the boat from being blown backwards by the wind (probably 20-30 mph gusts). At the last minute, I had to gun the outboard in forward, jam both the outboard and the rudder all the way over and make a quick forward turn. Huge relief that I didnt smack the dock but I came pretty close.
After this fun adventure, I filed down and bent some metal tab in the outboard(if you look at what is limiting the throttle you will figure out what Im talking about) to allow about 1/2 throttle for both N and R. It was a useful thing to do. The outboard is still difficult to start but I think thats partly because of high elevation. Looks like McPhee is near 7000 foot so same elevation issue. Yes, it looks like a really great place and "large" by my standards.
