(link) (pic) (Sumner -- Mac 26S -- Blanding, UT) If I saw it right, it looks like you have your boom attached to the backstay. Mine was set up the same way. My brother in law, who was a Mac dealer for many years, installed a topping lift immediately. He warned that having your boom attached to the backstay can be dangerous. If a big wind comes up as you raise your sail, it can make for an interesting dance as you try to unhook it. Plus if you have a bimini , it can complicate that too.
