Hi Sumner,
Just wanted to pass on a couple items we addressed last year.
I wanted a topping lift that didn't involve extra lines, blocks, cleats/clutches, etc.
Teliki's is attached to the backstay bolt at the top and runs through a captive clam cleat mounted vertically on the boom end cap. A stopper knot keeps the boom from falling if the line uncleats.
It's still adjustable "in cockpit" but is far simple. At anchor it's great to hoist the boom right out of the way.
When trailering we use the topping lift to hold the furler against the mast with a series of half hitches - we find it much easier/faster than additional supports/ties/drain pipe/etc.
Also, Teliki suffered from the dreaded "bolt rope shrinkage" (actually it's more like the sail stretched). Fixing that as per posts in this forum brought the boom up almost a foot. Reducing mast rake brought it level.
Always something to work on...
Chris
