Ruth, Welcome! I've been sailing for a few years. First bought the boat as a weekend thing to do something with 3 teenage kids (yup, I've been a single parent for years). We all learned to sail together.
Now, the kids are grown and I had taken the boat out of the water before Katrina (lucky for me). These past few months I've spend parts of my weekends getting the boat back in shape. Finally have a partially rebuilt harbor in New Orleans.
Of course now that the kids are adults, they 'might' have time to go sailing, every now and then. A large part of the upgrades to the boat have been fixing it to sail single hand. At 52 years old, I get stange looks ... but the peace and bliss is more than worth it. I remember the mornings waking up off of Cat Island with dolphins all around (although I won't be sailing off the coast of Mississippi this year.
