Shrouds Catching When Raising Mast

Well I do the clean-n-jerk but my shrouds never catch on anything because I tie em to the mast with a string which breaks on the way up. They fall free. The trick is to gather and tie em all up with a 3/8 line first, then apply the string, then remove the 3/8 line. If you forget to remove the 3/8 line on the first try not to worry --you will have another opportunity.
