If you just recieved your last copy of Small Craft Advisor you surely read with GREAT interest the article about Robert Crawford sailing his pocket cruiser Cal 20, "Black Feathers", in the 2008 Transpac Race from San Francisco to Hawaii. Hopefully, that article inspired you to purchase the book "Black Feathers - A Pocket Cruiser Sails the Single Handed Trans Pac".

I am sitting here looking at my copy of the book which is Marvelous. It is not only written from Robert's viewpoint of the race, but the second half of the book tells the entire story of the race from his wife Jeanne's perpsective. I devoured this book in record time. I cannot recommend it enough. So, when you get your book, make sure that you pack it in the boat for the trip to Lake Havasu in Feb. so that Robert and Jeanne can sign it for you!

YES!! Robert and Jeanne Crawford of "Black Feathers", the smallest boat ever to finish the Single Handed Trans Pac, will be attending the event. Robert will be conducting two seminars, one on the actual race experience itself, and the other on the process of taking a stock boat, like his Cal 20, and preparing it for a serious trip like this.

Jeanne also will also be doing a couple of seminars for the gals who just need a break from the boats for a bit. She has a special treat planned for the ladies that I'm going to wait for her description to tell you about. Little suspense for the gals!

I cannot tell you how honored I am that they will be attendig and presenting at our gathering. They will be signing copies of "Black Feathers" and I have asked them to make sure that they have some copies with them for sale for those of you that forget yours at home.
