Saving Grace

Report: outside forum guidelines

In my never ending Quest to prevent nature from aging my boats I tried a new method today to prevent chafe of Graces' cover and reduce weathering of her teak. After reading about Pool Noodle use and seeing a worn spot on a high point in Graces cover I hatched an idea. I purchased 8 pieces of 1 inch pipe insulation at Home Despot for $1.80 each. I split it and installed over the toe rail and hand rails of Grace. It covers pretty well, and provides a soft edge for the cover to drape over. (Oh, and if it doesn't work out.. It'll be the cheapest mistake I've ever made!) I really need to sail more! Mitch M17 #656 Grace & P-15 Blu Bayou
