M15 Conversion

I am finally starting on the conversion of my M15 to a Gaff cutter rig. The new gaff and boom are on the way from the vendor, the bowsprit has been fabricated and delivered and I am working on the forestay attachment fixture. I will soon be at the point where I drill deck holes for the mooring bit (sampson post) and cut the mast to the new length.

Very exciting.

The sail configuration in the attached diagram is still in flux a bit. Working to move the CE forward a bit and reduce the sail area. Will probably lower the head a bit and shorten the foot.

The bowsprit configuration changed a bit due to cost. I bought a commercial mooring bit and it will be turned sideways to the center line.

Comments appreciated.
