Depth finders

I am considering adding a depth finder to my M15. My boat currently does not have an electrical system, nor do I really want one for other purposes since I day sail. Where I sail it gets shallow in a hurry!

Now, I already have a 36 Ah gel battery that I used to use with a Minn Kota electric trolling motor on my Vagabond. So, I could make a small battery box, and simply hook whatever device I buy into that when I want to, and power it that way. Then I can store the battery on the trickle charger in the garage like I do now. Any idea what kind of draw one of these fish finders takes? Any idea how much time I would get with that setup? Any recommendations for a fish finder and/or mounting advice?
