Report: outside forum guidelines

The boat came together beautifully this morning. We finished up bolting on some hardware and did some graphics. Dan's "Ol GEEZER" was pulled outside.

:

I mentioned that the normal keel cavity is completely empty. Mainly storage for Dan's collection of Jose Cuervo Gold that Dan has to HIDE from so called sailing "friends" of lesser means. So to help Dan out we installed a Teak and Holly floor board that opens into this keel cavity. . (Gee, I hope the usual miscreants don't read my posts). Also there is plenty of room for removable TRIM ballast that we have available. Dan has 100 pounds at his disposal; in 25 pound flat bags of pure lead. Dan can taylor his righting moment from 30% more over the stock 15 up to 70% more; depending on wind and sea conditions.

:

Anyway, out she came; mast up in less than a minute. (we leave the side stays with turnbuckles rigged and ready; the only task is get the mast up and forward and pin the headstay. Dan does it like a pro.. One minute.

Then out came the new SQUARE TOPPED MAIN that our friend Harry from EP sails made for Dan. Wow..the color is beautiful and crisp. She fit perfectly.

:

We went up 32 inches on the headstay . A true 7/8th rig; mast back, tack plate forward, sail area (with battens) is up 30%. The mast is adjustable fore and aft and has a nice rake. The high performance main has 2 deep reefs as standard.

We spend a little time with the new Jib; arranging the mainsheet and jib sheets. OL GEEZER also has a normal Main and working jib as well.
:

It will be easy to spot Dan's boat on the Horizon; she is very distinctive.

We installed the new Ruddercraft rudder; a very nice addition. Dan has an extra long tiller.

She's a looker :

Dan left with a smile and is now on his way up North to a Potter Meeting/sail event at the OAKLAND YACHT CLUB this weekend. (A drinking Club with a boating problem, but a perfect place to go sailing).

Takec care, Bob
