The quest has ended!
Was able to finalize the purchase last evening with the seller.
I am now the happy owner of 1981 Montgomery 15 #176.
Will not be able to tow her from NC back to MI until early April, but the deal is completed.
Thanks to this board, I am buying with confidence and knowing significant detail about Monty's in general and even this specific boat (from one of its previous owners, who contacted me personally to share his knowledge). What a great and helpful bunch this is!
