A question in my continuing Monty research. How does one reduce sail on a M17 as the wind rises? On my little 15 we'll put in a fishermans' reef initially, then put a reef in the main, if it gets worse, we'll drop the head sail and sail on reefed main alone. If it gets really howlin' we'll drop the main and put the headsail back up and can sail on a reach, or a little higher, pretty safely. I'm wondering if there is a similar approach in the M17. How do you manage the big headsail in heavy air? (Our 15's are fractional rigs) Thanks, Mitch
