In Response To: Battery Box and cabin wiring M15 (randy)

i've just completed the task of adding an electrical system to SCRED, my M15.

i've never seen (in person or photos) a factory installed electrical on the M15. my designed used what i have seen on M17s and other craft.

battery is in the bow under the v-berth (this is the 'screwed closed' locker where the bow's flotation foam is located). SCRED is a '84 hull so a group-24 battery box fits just right up there between the 'steel punchings' hump and where the bow narrows. lead ballast boats will have more room in the bow locker and MUST HAVE a tie-down method for the battery box.

the distribution panel is located in/on the port side of the v-berth.

a few more pictures are in SCRED's blog of both the panel and the in-cabin wire runs -

at this time i've not put in running nor an anchor lights. technically a M15 is small enough, and slow enough, to need only a white flashlight for night and low visibility running. i use a battery operated anchor light hung from forestay.

I have more pictures that will be posted on SCRED's www-site when I finish my 'in detail' description of the project.
