In Response To: How does the M15 compare to Potter 15 (Toller)

Much faster and self righting. M_15s win the Cruiser Challenge, First Place, all the time. Ballast makes the boat stable and self righting after a knock-down.

Mike Truman just won First Place again at the last Cruiser Challenge.

Both boats are fun for their desired use. The M_15 is large, perhaps 40% larger, especially inside . The M_15s cockpit is larger than the Potter 19.

One advantage of the potter is ease of launching and beach-ability.

The M_15 weighs almost twice as much and being ballasted with 320 pounds in a keel, keeps it on its feet in strong winds. You can sit to windward in a M_15 going to weather; in a potter, depending on the wind strength, you might have to use your body weight as ballast.

One thing for sure: Both boats are fun.

Heres an M_15 sailing singlehanded:

And both boats in the same wind.....
