Outboard Motor for M15

Report: outside forum guidelines

I see a lot of folks seem to like the Honda 2hp. We're thinking it would be nice to have a motor with F-N-R, but the smallest available is the 4hp Tohatsu. Weight being a consideration, naturally the Honda 2hp is a winner. However, for longer running times and more power if needed, plus the convenience of F-N-R, the water cooled 4hp Tohatsu wins. We've considered the 3.5hp, which I'm sure is more than adequate, but only has F-N. The 4hp weighs 57 lbs, the 3.5hp 41 and the Honda 28. Fuel storage is also a consideration; either one large 3 gal tank(only works with the 4hp)or with a smaller motor, up to three single gal lastic fuel containers. When cruising the ICW, there will be times you'll have to motor, or the weather will be such that sailing is more difficult; that's why we have a motor. Any thoughts/comments/suggestions? Thanks John/Joy
