I continue my research into the M17, and thanks so much for this boards help. As for trailering. How do the M17 sailors rig their masts for trailering? I see photos of M17s, new, from the factory with stays stowed and disconnected. I figure it's unlikely skippers that sail regularly disconnect their stays at the cabin. On my Potters I've historicaly left all connected and shock corded (Bungied ?) my stays to the mast, being careful not to let them rub the gelcoat of the cabin as I trailer. And how about those spreaders? It sure looks like they'd like to whack away at the cabin top at every pothole. How do you guys manage that? And do you use spreader boots to prevent sail chafe? What size? I looked at Mooring/Trailering covers from The Sailors Tailor Inc in ohio. They'll supply a fitted cover for a little less than 500 bucks. Any insightful advice on covers? How deep of water is needed to launch, looks like about 3-4 ft. from the pics of the trailers I've seen. Thanks for any insight. Regards, Mitch P-15 Blu Bayou
