M15 towing vehicle

Hi, I am a newbie considering the purchase of a M15. My main concern right now is whether my 2004 Passat wagon (1.8 turbo, 5-speed manual) will be able to safely and reliably tow the M15, in particular up the launch ramp. From what I have read on some VW owner forums so far, the Passat apparently has no rated towing weight. I even found one post saying that a VW dealer recommended against towing with the Passat. On the other hand, I read on the Montgomery owners website that someone is or was using a VW GTI to tow a P15 and had no problems. Does anyone here happen to use a VW Passat or equivalent (Jetta, Golf) to tow a P15 (or maybe even a P17)? Regardless of your towing vehicle, what do you recommend I do? Thanks a lot for your input!
