Friday I came home to find a big box on my doorstep. It was the Sailors' Tailor boat cover I'd ordered about a month ago. So Saturday I headed down to the boat yard to fit it up in place of the 2 10' X 12'white tarps I had been using. The sailors' Tailor cover took a while to figure out. It has clever fittings to get all the stays, railings, and mast through. I must say it is one well made, and equally well fitting, cover. I'll attach some pics. I would prefer to be sailing so much that I wouldn't need a cover. But that's not in the cards this year. And I want to keep Grace looking nice. The pros of the new cover are; it looks great and has features like vents and zippers, snaps and toggle closures. The cons are the cost. At $500 it's pricey. But I must add that it's fit and weight of materials and fittings make it look like it cost that much to make! The Tarps I used prior were good at their purpose. They kept the sun and water off, and they were split at the spreaders to provide good fit and coverage. The price was right for those at $50 for the 2. The downside is they'd rub on the boat and leave marks I'd have to wipe off. I was afraid they'd become permanent if left unattended too long... So that's the story on the cover. I'll keep this board apprised of the wear over time of the cover. (It's supposed to last 10 years) Mitch M-17 656 Grace
