Does your new rudder folded up look like these? I can't tell you the length of the new Idasailor rudders. I have 3 more new ones coming in. These are the last 2 boats with the Idasailor option. Seafrog and Pepperjack. They were long enough. Bob Notice on Pepperjack we went to 2 gudgeons and the bottom one is higher somewhat? The blade is still longer than the stock rudder, in fact we can't lower it because it hits the concrete floor in the factory. I may be wrong but 34 inches seems a mite short; 40 would be good.
