Yes it seems many of us have the same problem. I have been trying to figure out how to address the same issue. By keel do you guys mean the centerboard that can be moved up and down or the shoal draft part of the keel that runs underneath the boat? I don't know if you can remove the shoal draft keel it seems to me that it is part of the fiberglass mold of the whole boat.
Anyway my problem sounds similar to Matt's problem. I have a slow leak from a crack on the inside of the "pocket" where the centerboard is located. I was planning on removing the centerboard then just injecting epoxy in the crack then glassing it over and repainting.
I think there have been posts about this before on this forum i'll try to locate and repost them.
We should keep in touch about this. I don't know about you but this problem is giving me a headache and any help would be appreciated.
it's 70 degrees in cleveland today, but the damn lake is frozen! I hope i can fix this keel problem before launch.
