Just got a neptune 16 - questions.

Report: outside forum guidelines

Hello,
This is my first real sailboat. I've sailed a little with sunfish types.
I have a few questions regarding the rigging of the main sail.
Is there something that keeps the mast up when the sail is down?
Is there supposed to be a rope to the mast to hold the boom down (put tension on the sail) when the sail is up? Or just the rope to the stern?
Where could I find a new "car" that fits inside the boom and hooks to the haylard and the sail?
Do you have to put the clips into the mast everytime you raise the sail or is there a way to hold the clips into the mast?
I am looking forward to all responses. Maiden vayoage should be this week.
