In Response To: Water Coming in Through Centerboard Trunk? (Steven)

When I bought my N-16 (1972 model) someone had replaced the attaching hardware to the centerboard with oversized hardware. When they winched the centerboard up they punched a hole in the top of the centerboard trunk. I replaced the hardware and refiberglassed the trunk and installed a brass tube for the winch cable to come through. No leak now. You may want to pull out the foam located under the cockpit seats and check the top of the trunk for damage too.
