You will not have any problems with leaks around the dagger board trunk.

The only way you will have a leak is if there is a crack in the hull itself. All of my leaks are from deck fittings and the ports. YOU WILL NOT REGRET YOUR DESICION. If you head up to New Orleans, let me know, maybe I can met you some where along the way for a few beers.
