I had the same problem with my Neptune/Newport 16..the water was splashing up through the cable that controls the center board.. I took a piece of one inch pvc plastic and cut two inches off...then I cut the pvc using double blades hack saw lenghwise...I then slipped the pvc around the cable and used pvc cement to glue it to the deck and close up the cut...result...dry cockpit...good luck Sailin' Dave
