No. the spreaders are attached at the sides of the mast with clevis pins, to a bracket that is permanently affixed to the mast. There is a slight amount of play in the design but not intentional nor necessary. That bracket is shaped as a very shallow "V" so that the spreaders, when attached, point slightly aft so as to be more aligned with the attach points at the hull. I made my own spreaders from .500 OD by .065 wall thickness aircraft alum. 2024 T3. After rigging I slide a tennis ball on each end that I drilled and slit...for a tight fit.

It would be easier for you if I took pictures but I am not home during the daylight hours long enough to do that.
