I bought the one located in Beaufort, NC that was listed in the classifieds here. The previous owner did a lot of work on the boat and trailer. It is pretty bare bones but in good shape and ready to sail. The attached picture is not that great; camera phone at dusk. I took it for insurance purposes. I hope to get some better shots this weekend. I will rig it in the driveway this weekend and make sure I know what I am doing and have all the required safety equipment on board before I take it to the lake on 9/2.
One thing I am curious about is securing the companionway. Obviously if someone has time, they can cut through the wood or whatnot, but I think just something minimal would help in many situations. Stuff sometimes gets stolen at ramps when people can hop up in a boat and rifle through it looking like they are supposed to be there; there might be people around but they take no notice or neighborhood kids (maybe even my own) climb in the boat during the day and get into stuff they shouldn't. Any common solutions?
Here is the desrciption of what the previous owner did: <<>>
