Hull Indentation

Report: outside forum guidelines

We are looking at purchasing a 1983 Gloucester 16, which has an indentation on the starboard side. There was another one on the port side which the current owner filled in.

Can we get some opinions on the cause, remedy and seriousness? The boat has been refitted with new sails and rigging and seems in nice shape...just the indentation. Thanks for help!
