Surprise Rigging

Jim, Thanks for the help on rigging the centerboard. Now, please help with the lines running from the boom to the double transom cleats. The mainsail clew goes in the boom grove from the mast opening to the end of the boom. Do you use two half hitches to fasten the clue and the boom eye together? I have a hanging tang or thingy on the end of the boom with a half inch hole in the lower end. Do I install a block to run a line through and down to the opposing transom cleats? Also do I run a line from the end of the boom through the block, under the boom center, and down to the deck? Thanks. Frank
