So, here are some photos of my cabin in progress.
- We've removed the bench backrests altogether. It's really opened up the cabin and provides space to lie down and kick your feet up.
- The filler cushion for the battery trunk is replaced with a custom lid (not it has a notch to accept the fold down settee table)
- The alcohol stove is gone and replaced with a custom drop-in breadbox. It is 8 inches deep and has a small cutting board. We keep it stocked with crackers, chips, jerkey, bread and anything else that would normally be floating around the cabin in the shopping bags they arrived in. (We cook on a propane grill on the stern pulpit)
- The sail locker has been finished off with nicely fitted bulkheads, one of which has a door to access plumbing and electrical fittings under the galley sink
- The electrical distribution panel was built from scratch and located under the map table. The old panel has been replaced with a ship's placard, which covers the back side of the Plastimo compass. The placard is illuminated by it's own LED which is wired to the compass light, and lights the nav station bright red when the running lights are on.
