My nimble has an aft steering station on the inside of the transom. The shaft extends from the rudder up thru the back wall of the cockpit. To get to the cutlass bearing I think I have to remove the rudder and the shaft??? It looks like I will have to dig a deep hole in the ground , about four feet, to let this shaft and the rudder free from the boat. Does this sound right??
