Hi Jim, I wish you well if you decide to troop out to the Washington area. It is just a skip up from the San Juans to the Southern Gulf Islands; it is all the same archipeligo, with a national boundary snaked among them. The history is long and interesting. If you want to see Devlin's, (some of their boats are heart-breakers,) there are some things that you might want to Google: there is a wooden boat school on Gabriola Island which runs courses every summer and invites visitors; another builder named Foster is somewhere up around Gabriola or Galiano, who makes delightful period type boats with classic sail setups. I don't have the URL, since I just saved some pix to add to my desktop. Just past our breakwater at Thieves' Bay marina on Pender Island, the Orca come by regularly in summer; some times they are close enough to splash you if somebody breachs at the right moment. I have been on the water when they came by and, shore or H2O, they give you a thrill that is hard to describe. Who knows, you just might spot a Cadborosaurus (Caddy) too. ~~~ __/)~~~ Rod
