I shaped a hunk of marine ply (2 layers of 1/2" IIRC and epoxied/screwed it to the flat surface. The whole thing was sheathed w/ dynel and epoxy, faired and apainted. It works fine under sail; I think it is vastly superior to the drop-board. Rick
