(pic) (Craig Poole) Craig.... I have the same tongue extension on my trailer...I had the same problem. Until, I mounted an inexpensive trailer wench on top of the box that the tongue slides through...I used a winch that had a nylon strap...to get the tongue out, I pull out the strap and hook it on the rear of the extension and crank away. To retrieve the extension, I merely hook the strap on the front of the tongue, where I mounted an eyebolt, and crank it back in...works great, to help out I mounted rollers for the tongue on the trailer on two of the cross beams of the trailer.... Always trying to find ways to keep the launch and retrieve simple..... Dickens
