Someone has got to ask, so it might as well be me. What the heck are you planning on crossing with cheap, used sails? I spent four years in the U. S. Navy (3/18/53 thru 3/15/57) during which time I served on two aircraft carriers and a seaplane tender, crossed the Atlantic twice, cruised around the Med for seven months, chased submarines around the North Atlantic in the middle of the winter, road out two hurricans, one of which ripped the gun turret off the bow of the U. S. S. Midway, CVA-41, hurled it down the flight deck, and launched it off the fan tail, enjoyed several fabulous falls and winters tied up to the dock at the naval station in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and over the last 40 or so years have crewed for some excellient sailors, and one who knew less about sailing than my grandchildren's Labradore does, so if it is wider, and deeper than Mobile Bay, I would think long and hard about crossing it in any boat with cheap, used sails especially one that was not designed as a open ocean vessel, and that includes the Nimble 20 Offshore as well.
