Congrats Rich, I thnk you'll be most happy with your new Kodiak. I've only owned my 98 yawl for a year now but have a grand time with each outing. I imagine that with 27 hp she will get up and go. I like Stewart also have a plan B version and shoal keel with 18 hp yanmar, except I have a yawl instead of the sloop rig. I've always liked having that little sail aft (my last boat was a ketch instead).
One thing that surprised me recently is that my boat apparently has no vented loop on the toilet drainage system. Normally, with the two way valve turned to the holding tank this would not matter, BUT, if I accidently turned the valve to sea that could open the circuit to the sea and possible suction backflow if left in place and took the boat out.
I'm installing a new Lavac Zenith toilet which uses a large hand operated henderson pump mounted on the bulkhead higher than the toilet, includes a vent for part of the loop and has a one way valve at the pump outflow.
I'm surprised Nimble wouldn't think about this important safety feature.
