When I had my Honda 8 in the well it would work unless I ran a long time at half throttle or better. I have since put in a 9.9 Yamaha and I had to raise the cover a couple of inches and this works without any problem. I think the 9.9 Yamaha is to heavy and have since had a bad case of buyer's remorse. I tried to sell it but with the 25" shaft I didn't get any takers. My main problem with it is the weight. If I could have sold it I believe I would have gone with a 6HP. Someone was looking for a sketch on how to rig the sprit rigged mizzen, so I have included a sketch of the way I used to rig mine before I changed it.
