Mast raising made easy

Well, I raised my mast today in anticipation of a Monday launch. After last years 3 person trials and tribulations, I decided to make matters a bit more easier. It's amazing what a fulcrum can do.

All for the lofty cost of two 1"x2"x10's at the local home depot plus some lashing cord for an X at one end and lashing down the other ends on deck. Hooked a line from the X to the trailering hole on the mast and then webbing from the trailer winch to the other end.

Hauled away on the winch which hauled the mast up as nice and easy as pie. The added advantage was I could stop half way up and straighten out a few twisted fittings before they could bend. From start to finish it probably took me all of about 30 mins (alone)! Now I know it will not be such a big deal from now on.

Hurray.
