That looks like marine grade polymer to me. The same stuff they make trailer slides out of. At first I thought teflon but not so sure now. I've got to also replace mine and planned to do it much as Mark suggested, cut a piece long enough for each side then drill holes to match existing screws, countersink, and then cut at the center line of each screw hole.
