Tiller Bracket

In Response To: tiller bracket (shenanigans)

after reading about your tiller I checked mine on the Arctic 25. It was broken where someone had welded it before and ground the weld down to look 'nice'. Just had a welder reweld and he cut two triangles to place under the tubing where it attachs to the plate on the rudder then welded them to the plate and tubing. It makes it very stiff.

I may create a bracket to bolt to the tubing in front of the rudder like Ray's welded gusset and put a support from it at an angle to the front of the rudder. This should take some of the downward pressure off the weld.

not having much luck with uploading pictures but can attach to e-mail with no problem.
