I cleaned out the mizzen mast hole. It has a ton of leaves into it. I have learned so much from your post (all the technical things) than all the information I have found in books.
is there a drain from the bilge to the mizzen mast weep hole? Maybe it was unable to drain due to teh forrest in there.
The boat is complete and came with bumpers, anchor, sails still are still crips, etc. They wanted to purchase a pontoon boat and when I heard they had a sailboat for sale I jumped on it. When I picked it up the trailer had a flat and the boat covered in pine needles and leaves.
I have ripped up the wooden pieces of wood in the cabin due to the water saturation issue. I have removed all the teak and have sanded them to a beutiful finish. I am in the process of treating the teak.
By the way the toe rail has some loose bolts that need to be tightened and they just turn and turn. I suppose there is no easy way to remove this toe rail and re-seal it. If not does anyone know how to tighten them? I can not locate the nuts for the bolts.
Thanks
