I furled the mizzen temporarily (badly) in some windy conditions the other day and it ended up flogging (quite) a bit while I was otherwise occupied. When I got a moment to sort it out, the clew had come loose, dangling a u-shaped strap with a series of holes in it from the grommet and nothing else attached. Oops. It looked vaguely familiar, but I have to confess I hadn't payed that end of the boom much attention up to that point and I'm not sure what's missing. Guess it could just be a pin and ring.
I can make it work again with a bit of rope, but there was probably a pretty good reason to have a special piece of stainless hardware out there. Can anyone post a photo of what this is supposed to look like or point me toward something on the Web so that I might be enlightened?
Thanks, -Brent (Nimble 20)
