The Nimble 20 I owned had been modified slightly to make a 15" shaft outboard work better. By modified, I mean the front edge of the motor well had been cut down about 1". The beauty of a 15" shaft outboard was the the 5HP 2-stroke I had was pretty light and it'd fit easily into the cockpit locker. I'd store it in there when away from the boat so it could be locked and also not rust away sitting in the slip. I'd also put the motor into the cockpit locker if I had a long days sail ahead, figuring every little bit less drag helped.
